Te Hoiere Pelorus Project - next steps
Last week’s public meeting in Havelock on the Te Hoiere/Pelorus River project was a great success drawing in a passionate community that is committed to seeing positive improvements in their river catchments.
The next phase in the project will see the circulation of a Te Hoiere/Pelorus Project Community Survey. It seeks to find out what the local community feel are the good environmental, cultural, economic and social aspects of their catchments and what areas need improving as a priority.
Responses from the survey will contribute to the creation of an early action plan to start enhancing the catchment and feed into forming early principles for an Integrated Catchment Enhancement Plan. The Project is also looking for active steering group representation from the local community.
