Rai and Surrounds
With Kristin Aldridge working in the heart of Rai Valley village, managing the Farmstore or on-farm as technical advisor, she is in the perfect position to work with farmers to improve freshwater outcomes and hear ideas from the community.
"I grew up in Rai Valley. Since I've been part of the Project, I've discovered the incredible diversity of rare native species throughout the catchment. I'm looking forward to working with the community to protect and nurture this biodiversity in our backyards," she said.
If you have suggestions for community plantings or workshops, or just want to know how to get involved with the Project, give Kristin a ring. Some examples of previous work and work under way are shown below.

Catchment Care Programme
Farmers in Rai Valley have participated in the Marlborough District Council Catchment Care Programme to improve freshwater, with fencing, riparian and wetland planting, and dung beetle releases. Te Hoiere Project offers a turbocharged version of this programme, with more resources available to landowners in Te Hoiere/Pelorus than other parts of Marlborough.
