Smallholdings Community Meeting

Categories
Smallholdings are important to our rural communities and critical to the freshwater aspirations of our catchments. Te Hoiere Project invites all smallholdings (1-30ha) in the catchment to join us for an evening of free pizza, learning about dung beetles, and to talk about your freshwater goals.
Catchment coordinators will also be on-hand to discuss the support available through Marlborough District Council for fencing, native plants, weed control and more.
WHO: Smallholdings in Te Hoiere, Are Are Creek and Linkwater
WHAT: Enjoy pizza while having a yarn with others in the community about freshwater; learn about dung beetles and funding available for fencing, native planting and more.
WHEN: Thurs, 7 December, 6.15pm – 8pm
WHERE: Havelock Pavilion, end of Neil Street
RSVP: Wendy at wendy.sullivan@landcare.org.nz or 0272473503
Guest speaker: Dr Shaun Forgie, Dung Beetle Innovations
Dung beetles offer a remarkable, sustainable solution to revitalise our soils and rehabilitate our waterways. Te Hoiere Project has made financial support available to assist smallholdings in incorporating this tool into their farm management.
