This part of the Project looks at habitats of taonga (native) species. Our partners look to mātauranga Māori, science, or other local knowledge to gain understanding of habitats and the mauri of the wider ecosystem. This understanding can inform decisions on protecting species, re-establishment of species, threats to habitat loss and other issues. The list of species and researched habitats will continue to grow with the Project and intergenerational aspirations of the community.
